Details

Strategy-game fans who already enjoy abstract two-player titles will find Kollide adds a tactile magnetic layer that pure tile or chip placement games lack, and couples or duos looking for a more substantive two-player game than the typical card-game-for-two will get a format that runs long enough to feel like a real strategic match without dragging into hour-plus play sessions. The magnetic novelty also gives the game shelf appeal beyond pure strategic merit. Kollide also tends to draw curious onlookers when set up because the magnetic gameplay creates visible reactions during play, which can pull non-players into watching matches. The unique mechanic also gives the game a hook in the saturated two-player game category. The game also serves as an interesting conversation piece even outside of active play, which gives it shelf-display value beyond the standard storage-and-retrieval cycle of most board games.
